Frank Sidorfsky ( http://www-personal.k-state.edu/~fsid/ ) est un clarinettiste qui s'est depuis longtemps spécialisé sur le cor de basset.

Dans le magazine "The Clarinet" de Juin 2002, il signe un article concernant cet instrument, où l'on apprend qu'à l'époque il jouait le Selmer (tiens on est au moins deux dans le monde :mrvert: )

Je vous cite deux extraits :

"First and foremost, the basset horn is not an alto clarinet and should not sound like one. I remember the outrage I felt when a band director heard me played one of the Mendelsohn Concertpieces and said "I never heard an alto clarinet sound so good!" Of course, he hadn't, ..." :mrvert:

Et bien entendu, un extrait (paraît-il) célèbre d'une lettre de Brahms "The aria by Mozart was sung by Frau Guhrau with orchestra. To my great joy she was accompanied by two basset-horns which has been obtained with great difficulties. I do not think that any instrument blends more perfectly with the human voice"
